Cristiano Ronaldo would be Real Madrid's new captain as the current captain Serigo Ramos would join the Manchester United this summer, as per the Daily Star.
For weeks the news of the current skipper Ramos moving to the Old Trafford this summer was at the top of all sports debates. The Daily Star reported that the 29 year old is said that he’s not been offered a new deal and wants to join Manchester United this summer.
The departure of Ramos would be a good news for the Portuguese International, Cristiano Ronaldo. However,
Ramos has 2 more years left on his current deal.
The new Real Madrid head coach Rafa Benitez is expected to make Ronaldo his captain, as he would be the club's second-longest serving player behind Brazil's Marcelo.Marcelo joined Real Madrid in 2007 whereas Ronaldo moved in 2009. Ramos ,who joined in 2005 is currently the longest serving member of the Real team.
Ronaldo, who scored 48 goals i in Europe’s top five leagues last season, is at the top and the reigning Portuguese star is once again a front runner for next year’s Ballon d’Or.
Also it would be a tribute to the backbone of the team who has shattered many records and played the key role in the club's victory in many matches, ever since he joined Los Blancos in 2009.
Cristiano became the fastest player to score 200 goals in La Liga in last december and he is the only player in the history of football to score 50 or more goals in a season on five consecutive occasions, which adds to the probability of him being the next captain.
