FIFA World Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo stands 10th
on the list of the highest paid celebrities in the world, according to the
latest Forbes 100 list.
According to American business magazine Forbes, the Real
Madrid star, Ronaldo, banked a reported $52.6
million from his salary, bonus and endorsements such as Nike and his own
underwear and shirt line "CR7", and thus making him the highest-paid
team athlete.
With the selling of his image rights to Singaporean tycoon
Peter Lim, who owns Primera Division club Valencia, on Monday, the Portuguese
striker become football's biggest earner on Forbes Magazines 2015 list of the
world's highest paid team athletes.
Boxer Floyd Mayweather ($300m) and Manny Pacquiao ($160m) are
the 2 others from the sports field topping the rankings, earning more than
anyone else after their fight in Las Vegas earlier last year.
Lionel Messi ranks 13th with a total of $74m ($51.8
million from his salary and $22 million from his endorsements such as the Samsung
and Adidas).
However, only four other footballers stands in the top 100
list. Sweden and PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic stands in the 55th
rank,failing to enter the top 50 list.Real Madrid player, Gareth Bale, 25, is one of the youngest
on the list with $35 million and stands in the 67th place.Brazil’s Barcelona
striker, Neymar shares the 82nd place with Britney Spears, Eminem and Indian
cricket star Mahendra Singh Dhoni with $31 million. Real Madrid's James
Rodriguez is the other footballer on the list at 89th place with $39 million.
