scores a hat-trick to ensure Portugal’s win over Armenia. With the mind blowing
hat-tricks, the match ended with Portugal’s 3-2 win, which keeps them clear at
the Euro 2016 Group I qualifying summit on saturday.
Portugal
were on full form from the beginning of the match in Yerevan, though Gevorg
Ghazaryan played well for Armenia but failed to make a clean connection. With Marcos
Pizzelli's superb free-kick from around 25 metres in the 14th minute,
the hosts were ahead, getting them a fine start.
The reigning Ballon d'Or winner scored two more goals in the 55th and 58th minutes to ensure victory and keep Portugal top of Group I. The hat-trick took Ronaldo's competition record to 26 goals. |
Portugal midfielder Joao Moutinho said, "An oddly difficult victory? No. We knew that we would face a good team. Fortunately we have a player like Cristiano, who can decide the match at any moment."
Portugal tops the group with 12 points, while Denmark remained 2nd after beating Serbia 2-0 on10th.With one point each, Serbia and Armenia are at the bottom of the group.
